You can find us most Thursday nights on Full Tilt playing some Razz at the low limit cash tables. This past Thursday was a fun time. I established a loose image and used this image to my advantage. Playing Some Razz Cash With the Writers of Brickin The Nutz

The first ever Brickin The Nutz cash game went off without a hitch last night. We had a revolving band of bloggers and random players hit the table including the writers here. They included pushmonkey, jo, Oh Captain, gadzooks64(I'll try and do links later) with a short arrival of HoP who never actually sat down.

It started off fun when I called IT's bet while I held a king up. He had the only low and we were 3 handed at the time so I called with 2 low cards behind. In the end I sucked out on 7th street to look like the Razz idiot I am. We had Surflexus catching cards for most of the night and waffles ranting at random times about all the donkey plays we made. I doubled my stack in the first 20 minutes or so, gave some back when I let someone catch back because I wanted to extract an extra bet on a later street and ended the night back up almost a buy-in. It was good fun and I hope to set this up a couple of times a month if it is possible.

Final Hand from Dookie

This hand broke my heart! I played it too passively. I was trying to be tricky as I knew I was ahead. It's a good example of betting your hands hard, slow playing without a made hand is dangerous in Razz. Had I been more aggressive early, Cracknaces may have folded, of course that's not certain, but I definetly should've played it harder and it might have made him stop and think.

So yea, if I had re-raised from the beginning, this hand may have went differently when he hit his 10 on 4th street.

Cash Pickup Game

Announcing the first Blogger Razz cash pickup game. Tonight while Rivefuckers is running at 9:00 some of us Razz donkeys are going to open up a low limit table of .25/.50 Razz and beat the fuck out of each other. It should be a lot of fun. Currently on the probable list are Waffles, Poker Enthusiast, Jude Salem, and Instant Tragedy. All are welcome to come play.

Playing some Dookie

Had a crappy night playing Razz.

It started well with some cash action but a series of chasers turned a nice win into a small victory. I jumped into the $5 Razz tourney and had a nice stack going for much of the tourney but I tried to chase down a T when I had A234J and bricked the last three cards to lose to that T.

The Dookie was a lot of fun as always I chipped up nice. Ny hands hit me well and even when I bricked my hand looked much better than my opponents. Then the card deadness came but I still hand a manageable stack when I got chased down with the better hand and an even better draw. But the bricks kept flying and I got knocked out on the final table.

The end of the evening was like getting hit in the nutz over and over again. The chasers kept hitting and I ended the evening a little lighter in the bankroll. Still, I the Razz experience is what the world needs.

Razz Can Be So Frustrating...

Especially, when you're trying to find 'your game'. As a new player, I'm still trying to get a feel for how to play certain hands when and from where. Do not ask me about odds; I have absolutely no clue yet. I have noticed that playing position on 3rd street is just as important, maybe even moreso, as playing position in NLH. Also, the ability to quickly get away from good starting hands when they don't improve is key. Stubborness is not often rewarded. I'll share a hand demonstrating that point from a SNG I played in today.

I played the nightly $5.50 MTT last night also. Playing too loose in the beginning was wrong and so was playing too tight in the middle. Stupid. Finished 17/68. pOOp [tm]
