100 Chip Turbo...The Crack of the Poker World

Well FTOPS Razz arrived last night and I had no intentions of playing in it at all. I had no time to try and qualify so I thought I would just cover any bloggers who played in it on Live Poker Radio. But a funny thing happened about an hour before it started. IT and I saw that no bloggers were signed up so we made a deal. I would try one of the 100 chip super turbos with him giving me $30 for my efforts. So with him having 36% of my action I hit and $80 SNG and prepared for some fun.



I noticed right away that these things are crazy. Guys push in these things with just about any low up card so I knew if I could catch a hand early I would have a good shot. The 2nd hand gives me this:

So I am now the chip leader with 7 remaining and 2 players getting seats. I know that all I have to do is stay alive but I do have to play any strong hand as 205 chips isn’t going to guarantee me a seat.

I get the knockout and have a very nice stack. I have almost 3X the 2nd place guy so I can sit back a little but not to much. I get a good hand the very next time and get ready for 4th street.

Now I’m sitting pretty. It would be a total melt down if I don’t win a seat. I have 65% of the chips in play but I also no that Razz is fickle. I loose a small hand and make a steal and we are down to 3 players. I still have about 60% of the chips in play so I can wait it out. Eventually, after the two other players passed their chips around, a player is knocked out and I have my seat.
