3 hours, 33 minutes, 28 seconds. That’s the amount of time I put in last night in the FTOPS Razz. It was a game of bitter sweetness as I felt I played well all night except for one hand where I melted down. I have a few hands I’m going to post showing how close I truly was to having a great run instead of being knocked out in the top 30 %.
I can’t complain about the starting cards I had. I played about 21% of the hands and only played non-premium cards a few times based on my opponent. I did run into my share of bricks that kept me from continuing with good starts. But we all have those. This really reflects what I did or didn’t do that could have made a difference.
This first one is early but sets the tone of my game for the night.

I will raise here most times. I was in late position and folded to me. He has an 8 so we are basically tied. Notice past KORD Champion volgon giving me a shout out. Thanks man.

My read on him at this point is that he will re-raise if he has three cards under your door card. He has done this many times already.

I pair again and fire cuz only a moron calls against my board. He isn’t a moron.
In another early hand, I get involved with a very active player. He was seeing a lot of hands so I am willing to take a chance against him if the time is right.

I will post a bit more of the action later today.

So that's where all the decent staring hands were dealt last night. =)
Most of my opponents were like the guy who called you all the way down with 98. No one believed anyone (with good reason, usually). It was mostly a case of make a hand and get paid, or bluff at your own peril.
I busted not long after you and managed to come out ahead only because Steve Zolotow's bounty more than covered my satellite entry. Late last night I logged on again hoping to see Surf at the final table, but no such luck.
Do you think that had a worse made Queen there and still made a good fold?
