A Couple of Hands (Jude)

As I was going through my hand history file this morning, my husband peered over my shoulder, Why do you do that? I mean, who cares?

He thinks I'm a total dork. :)

It's been a few days since the tournament, but I took a few notes this time to help my memory along. I'll try to do that every tournament, as it helps me wade through all those hands.

Miss Dottie mucks [Qs Jc Ac 4h Tc 6s 4s] J,T,6,4,A
JudeSalem wins the pot (1,066) with 8,7,5,2,A

Weird hand here. For some reason, even with his raise, I wasn't concerned about Talawah. My concern was Miss Dottie and her 6 4 A...but she actually held the worst hand! I have no idea why she was in this hand or why she called on the end with her J low, but I'm glad she did. :)

bchgal folds <---Sweet!
Uncalled bet of 400 returned to JudeSalem
JudeSalem mucks
JudeSalem wins the pot (2,690)

This was a really risky play and I got super lucky that not only did my upcards look great, bchgal was able to fold on the end. This could've been ugly, but was actually a turning point in the tournament. When I make this types of plays, I try to get away from them as soon as things go south. My upcards in this one kept me in, though.

I like stealing with nice upcards but usually I want to be in position. You were first to act it seems so your steal/bluff is probably gonna get called. If you are 1-2 off the initial bring in (I.E. Only 1 or 2 left to act after you) and everyone folds before you thats a perfect steal position.

Hey,

I saw your post on another blog and figured I'd give you a headsup about a WPT giveaway I'm running this year.

You can win a weeklong vacation in the Bahamas, training from the pro's and a shot at 10 WPT buyins plus $10,000 in cash!

The first satellite is held on Full Tilt Poker (a freeroll) February 10th.

Right now there's only 34 players signed up, the top 4 advance to a single-table semi-final in February. The fields aren't going to get any smaller as word of this promotion spreads. So if you want in, you'll want to play some of the earlier events to have less competition.

Hope the tables & life are treating you well, and I look forward to you playing in our WPT satellite for free!
