On Again With My Love for Razz

I had an interesting night last night as I started off playing razz cash before playing the 2K tourney a little later. Playing 1/2, I like to buy in for 40. This allows for some suckouts and bad play on my part while still have some cash there to make a run. Last night I decided to add $10 after every hand that the RNG screwed me or I got sucked out on. In 20 minutes of play I added $50. Anyway I did ok by breaking even on that table.

In the tourney I had a couple of hand that Really helped me a lot early. Just before the roll began I was down to 800 chips but hit a nice hand to get up to 2Kin chips. The I got this hand.

Bobzilla1980 folds

goose-pmg calls 80

Standard good starting hand. With these starting hand I like the fact that there is another 5 and 2 showing on the board giving me less chance to pair. I would think they may cover another one of my possible pairing cards.

I have a question with this part...Should I have reraised here? I think with both players getting good cards it might be better to conserve chips a little. That is how I played it anyway.

I have the nut...They must be thinking I paired or just hoping to get lucky with such good pot odds. I reraise would have been nice.

Uncalled bet of 300 returned to pokerenthusiast

I push them out with my made 7 and take down a nice pot. Each player that called on 5th street paid me 300 to see the next card. With both players drawing to T is it a smart move for them to call such a small side pot. They are both drawing thin and should fold in my opinion.

As we got near the money I stayed a little more selective and got away from some hands that I could have gone broke with. I had enough chips left when the bubble burst that I could move into top final table spot with one nice hand but it wasn't to be. This game really is about survival some times.

In the first hand, I dont think I would've reraised on 4th, either. I like the call. No need to advertise you are drawing to the nuts.

When you hit on 5th, you bet out. I think I may have gone for the check-raise there. A check would imply that you paired and I think goose would've most likely bet out there. But then you risk losing seat0...close call. I think you got the max in chips from that hand.

On the second hand, seat0 removes all doubt that he is an idiot, as well as Pokerftp. :)

Congrats on the cash. Well played.

I read somewhere the other day that the best strategy for playing online poker games successfully was to play your hand rarely if you are not the big or small blind, and raise cautiously if you are!

Take time to feel out how other users play poker online. The main difference between playing poker in the real world and playing at an online poker site is the fact that you cannot see your opponents, thus making it harder to work out what they are thinking which in turn makes it harder to project their next moves... This is why patience is a crucial part of being successful in any online poker game.

Don't believe me? Try out the tactic on any one of the free online poker sites and see if you end up with more virtual cash than you started with... i reckon you will!

Can I simply say what a relief to find someone who truly is aware of what theyre speaking about on the internet. You positively know how one can deliver an issue to gentle and make it important. More individuals must read this and understand this facet of the story.
