A Good Tourney Night, Razz Cash and the Kord on Friday

I had a solid night on the Razz tourney tables last night. The highlight was taking 2nd in the $5 tourney but bubbling the 2K hurt a little. This is the 2nd time in a week or so I've done that. Anyway, I had this hand that I really think I screwed the pooch on. Take a look.

Full Tilt Poker Game #4887310743: $2,000 Guarantee (36442525), Table 11 - 400/800 Ante 75 - Limit Razz - 22:16:52 ET - 2008/01/16
Seat 2: ab_norml (2,505)
Seat 4: pokerenthusiast (5,596)

ab_normal called the bring-in and then called my bet. I put him on an 8 or 9 with a solid starting hand otherwise.

Since he is short I want to put pressure on him. Still think I'm ahead here.

The 6 bricked but I think he has a pair and maybe a 9 behind. It turns out he had the 9 but didn't pair. He has a great draw and the lead. My thought was fold or put him in. I chose not to fold and got for the knockout. I still had a smallish stack if I lose but in hindsight a fold was a better choice because he didn't pair like I thought. What is the right play.

pokerenthusiast shows [Ad 8h 6c 3d 6s 9c 7d] 8,7,6,3,A
ab_norml wins the pot (5,485) with 6,4,3,2,A

I actually improve but not enough and lose the hand. With 20 players left and 12 getting paid the best line may have been to fold on 5th street.

Remember to play the KORD on Friday night and the writers of Brickin The Nutz will be playing some cash at some point around 9:00. I'm not sure if we will all be there but do a search for me and come join us. We are trying to see how high we can build the waiting list.
